There are limited opportunities for skilled international volunteers to participate directly in Huresic's projects, according to the skill needs and requirements of individual projects.

In 2001, we received one of the Education Africa Presidential and Premier Education Awards, in the category of non-profit sector, AIDS in Education. The organisation's aim is to address the socio economic development needs of people particularly children and youth in communities of Limpopo province. The board takes decisions and approves programmes and budgets. Provide professional training to develop skills on curriculum vitae writing and interview handling. Provide care and support to sick people through Home Community Based Care and assist them to take prescribed medical treatment and refer to clinics and hospitals. Provide leadership skills training to youth groups and organisations, Learner Representative Councils, Community Based Organisation and emerging Non Government Organisations. Conduct HIV/AIDS education and awareness to schools, communities, prisons and organisations through inter alia the Workshops, Drama, Campaigns and Health talks. Provide food, clothes and pay school fees, uniforms and where necessary provide shelter for orphans and poor children. Provide food parcels and home steady gardens for sick people and poor families. Assist emerging organisations and individual about writing project proposals and business plans. Liase and network with other organisation both local, national and international as well as government in mobilising resources to advance the developmental cause for which the organisation is established. Embark on children and youth development projects that will develop talent and remove them from criminal and risky activities using approaches such as sports development projects, for example soccer, volleyball, netball, athletics, cricket and indigenous games. Embark on campaigns to make people aware of social and economic development issues affecting them through workshops, campaigns and seminars. Encourage business institutions to train, fund training or sponsor training of people in business and technical fields. Deal with long term aspects of development whose genesis is a cogent scrutinising of obstacles of real development and among other things, the causes of poverty. Distributing food parcels of mealie meal, sugar, tea, milk, sugar beans, soya meat, soup, vegetable oil, and tins of vegetables and fish. Training unemployed youth, women and men in lifeskills as well as professional skills such as marketing management, poultry production and project management. Most of the people helped by the Centre are between the ages of 7 and 24 years old. More than 300 children and youth benefited from the sports and cultural development programmes. More than 10 chicken projects have been established in more than 10 communities, benefiting more than 60 unemployed people. More than 120 people have received care, treatment and were healed through the Home Community Based care. More than 20 emerging community based organisations received training on leadership skills, some have been assisted to register as Non Profit Organisations and received certificates.
